Introducing tackd.app
tackd.app is a free community bookmarking platform designed specifically for media educators.
In a fast-moving landscape shaped by streaming platforms, AI-generated content, evolving audience habits, and shifting regulatory frameworks, it can be hard to keep up. That’s where tackd.app comes in — a curated, teacher-powered hub for discovering and sharing the latest articles, resources, and inspiration relevant to media educators in schools.
What is tackd.app?
tackd.app is a lightweight, easy-to-use community bookmarking tool where educators can:
- Save useful links related to media theory, news, analysis, tools, and classroom practice
- Browse a growing library of tagged resources shared by fellow media teachers
- Stay informed about the latest developments in media production, regulation, and technology
- Filter by topic, including key areas such as representation, media and change, agency and control, and Australian stories
Who is it for?
Whether you’re a VCE Media teacher, university lecturer, or just a curious educator exploring the changing shape of media, tackd.app is built for you. Our goal is to create a collaborative, ever-evolving resource to help teachers stay ahead of the curve and bring relevant, thought-provoking material into their classrooms.
How does it work?
- No clutter – just titles, descriptions, tags, and a link
- Pending moderation – submissions are vetted to keep quality high
- Filter and search – explore by topic or keyword
- Export your pins – download your tacks (the entire collection!) as a CSV — so you’re never locked in and can take your resources elsewhere if needed.
You can view links posted by others, submit your own, and revisit valuable material anytime — without relying on scattered bookmarks or inboxes full of unread links.
What about accounts?
To keep the quality of pins high and the platform safe for educators, accounts must be approved before contributing. Once you’re in, you’ll be able to add, edit, and manage your own tacks — and help build a resource that benefits the whole teaching community.
Media education has never been more relevant — or more complex. From the rise of TikTok as a cultural force to AI-generated news anchors, the media world is shifting faster than most curriculum documents can keep up. Tackd.app helps educators keep pace, share insight, and spark ideas with a network of like-minded peers.
