The Unit 2 Media Exam at East Doncaster Secondary College is an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you’ve developed throughout the semester. The exam is worth 25% of your total grade and will have three sections:
• Media industry. In this section you will be required to show an understanding of the stages and roles in the film production process. You will need to support your discussion of these ideas with reference to the case studies that we examined in class. You can use the IP Awareness Making Movies guide to help you revise for this section of the exam.
• Media production. This semester, you were engaged in a collaborative film production exercise. In this section of the exam, you need to show an understanding of the stages that you went through to create your film, the roles you undertook and the skills you developed.
• Australian media organisations. In this section of the exam, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of Australian media organisations. You will need to show an understanding of different types of media organisations, including government, commercial and community. Be ready to discuss the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the organisation that you studied in class. You will also show an understanding of the issues facing the Australian film industry.
